MOVE UPDATE
posted 7/15/08
our new home is
New Paltz Recycling Center
Clearwater Road off Route 32
about half way between New Paltz  & Rosendale

HOURS: Wednesday-Saturday 12 - 5

Once we are fully up and running we plan to have an all out grand opening

There is no building so we've staged our materials in trailers for starters.
we plan a partial opening (about 1/3 of our stuff-partial list of stuff)
We'll start with 4 or 5 trailers docked right at the recycling center.

volunteer help is still needed to clean & paint these trailers
subscribe to our free e-newsletter
NEEDED ASAP - 3 dock or metal plates - metal plates should be at least 4 feet wide and about 30" long to join our trailers to the dock.

VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION - A HEARTFELT THANK YOU to the wonderful help we received our first week from volunteers Mark Rauscher, Andrea Epstein, Tony Maresco and Karen, Terry Laibach, Tim Hunter, the staff and teens at the New Paltz Youth Center as well as the wonderful support of the staff at the New Paltz Recycling Center

mobile homes needed - we'll need about 4 to get through the winter-donated or very low cost

OTHER   DONATION/SALE  OPTIONS  FOR  YOUR  UNWANTED  "STUFF"

1.Volunteer Thanks for June materials transfer at Newburgh goes out to Tim Hunter (HVME board member), John Eitel, Terry Laibach, Diana Hesse, Ed Nugent, Jim Fawcett. A very special thank you goes out to our former neighbor at Stewart, Peter Menner, New Millenium Rentals, a large construction equipment rental business who at this point is also being evicted by Port Authority. Peter allowed us to store our own trailer in his yard for the winter and helped us get it there allowing his wonderful staff, Danny, Jimmy, Tony and Brad, to assist in the transfer of our materials to our new trailer. Thank you, Peter!

Another special thank you goes to Kim Moyer. Many of you only know, Jill Gruber, as the front person and HVME founder/director. But most of you don't know the braun of our organization, Kim. She has been with HVME for 10 years as our warehouse manager and now our Chief Financial Officer. Because of HVME's excessive debt right now we had to lay Kim off but she has volunteered to continue doing our books and managing our grants until we are in the black or doing better. This is typical of Kim and her family who continuously volunteer for HVME. When she is working she always gives 10,000%. HVME, literally, could not exist without this fine woman. Thank you, Kim.

2. New Paltz Events - in an effort to be part of our new community we'll share announcements of some events that come our way. We are also interested in participating in New Paltz events when invited (hint, hint). We have a mobile program. Our ability to participate will be determined by staff or volunteer availability. Whether or not we charge a fee will be determined by how well we are doing in sales at our new location.

We try to keep our newsletter fairly brief so it will be read. Therefore we'll accept events that are environmentally or arts related only and limit listings to 3 per newsletter.

3. Cash Donations still really needed - anyone who donates will receive a free $25 (individual) HVME membership - use our online paypal (on homepage) or send a check. No amount is too small. We'll even send you a stamped self addressed envelope if this will help but we won't waste paper by sending a mass mailing. Send hecks to: 211 Woodcrest Drive Apt 1A, Modena, NY 12548.
We are now at almost $50,000 in debt & need your help.

or just drop off a bucket load of cash - we'll even come in at off hours for the right sized bucket load and we'll supply the bucket!

32 donations received to date totalling $2500 plus one storage trailer. We express our deepest gratitude to the following: Leonie Lacouette, Alanna Smith, Anne Symmes, Wendy Dervan, Bibi Sandstrom, Paul Klein, Amy Olsen, Jan Meltzer, Erin Muller, Rachel Pekarsky, Brian Libby, C & S Wholesale Foods, Ruth Elwell, Sue Gamache, Roy Volpe, Avon, Judith Rose, Cheryl Schneider, Ken Greene, Andi Bartzak, Kathy Preston, Cindy Quinn, Annette Barry, Cottage Sweet Cottage, Emily Hauser, Lenae Madonna, Jean Congers, Michael Chase-Salerno, Eric Gedsig, Stuart Auchinclass, Shuree Abrams Foundation, Terri Shand!

15 years of service celebrated on 3/5 - that's right! We can't believe it either.
We are asking all of you to help us begin our next 15 years by making a small donation (large ones are also accepted) through our website to help us recover from 6 months & $50,000 in debt because we have been closed & lost all this revenue.
